Greenwalks

Although the blog has been quiet for some time, there have been several evening and weekend walks but Nick was unable to go on these and there have been no other reports. We do however have some photographs from a demanding and cold walk from The Cat & Fiddle to Whaley Bridge - see the link on the right.

This however promises to be the first of many walks now the weather has vastly improved.

Yesterday evening we walked from Walker Barn on the Buxton road to Langley pausing for refreshment at the St Dunstan pub in the village. The walk skirted the bottom of Teggsnose, a disused quarry and now a very popular spot with spectacular views from the top; we then passed by the reservoirs serving Macclesfield - and as we did so the sun was setting leaving superb reflections on the water's surface.

The St Dunstan is always a popular refreshment stop as it serves real ales,
frequently a brew at the request of a local, and you can even order a takeaway for delivery and consumption in the pub.

Next walk Sunday.
